‘Nahla’ is a brand new collection of limited edition photographic prints created from a collaboration between award winning luxury design studio Celine Interiors and creative print agency Couture Editions.
The concept emerged from conversations and a friendship between respective creative directors Noor Charchafchi and Julian Abrams (who have previously worked together shooting Celine’s interior design projects) and was sparked by Noor’s desire to create original artwork for her luxury clientele that could also be made available to other interior designers, art enthusiasts and her substantial Instagram following.
The inspiration for the project came from Noor’s beloved aunt and the project’s namesake, Nahla – a name which in their native Arabic tongue translates as ‘the first drink of water in the desert’. Developing this aquatic theme Julian took watercolour paints as a starting point and studied the natural fluidity and organic behaviour of the pigments when mixed with water, creating a dialogue with Noor where composition, tonal range and colour were thoroughly explored together.
The full collection are now available in three sizes exclusively via the Couture Editions website. Shown prices include Giclee prints on Hahnehuehle Photo Rag paper with a white window mount and white frame.
